6 Awesome Villain Ideas For A Blade Reboot Movie

4. Morbius

An alternate ending to the first Blade movie (and a deleted scene on some of the DVD/Blu-ray releases of the movie) saw Blade standing on a rooftop with Dr. Karen Jenson after defeating Deacon Frost in his La Magra form. The pair see a cloaked figure whose identity is concealed behind a cloth mask staring at them from a nearby rooftop - it was Morbius. Blade's writer David S. Goyer has explicitly stated that he originally intended Morbius to be the primary villain should there be a sequel to Blade. This was eventually scrapped in favour of the Reaper storyline in the released Blade II film, so why not use the character who was meant to be used in the year 2000 in a Blade reboot? Morbius is a great character. He was called Michael Morbius prior to experiencing a transformation into a pseudo-vampire by electrical shock treatment and chemical ingestion. As a pseudo-vampire, he doesn't possess all the powers of a normal vampire - though he is super-strong and can fly - and nor does he possess all of their weaknesses, such as garlic, holy water, crosses or silver - however, he is somewhat vulnerable to sunlight, but only in the sense that it weakens him a little. Having Blade initially taking on his usual hordes of generic vampire flunkies and then having to deal with a completely new kind of vampire like Morbius later in the movie would make for a unique twist and an interesting introduction to a rebooted Blade franchise. Of course, there is the issue of Morbius potentially being used in Sony's Amazing Spider-Man franchise (given that he's already been name-dropped in print on screen), but it would be much cooler to see him fighting Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Spidey has plenty of villains to choose from.
