5. It's Just Not Funny Any More
Remember the days when Die Hard used to have a bit of genuine humour to it? For instance, the scene in Die Hard with a Vengeance where Simon Gruber forces John McClane to walk through Harlem wearing a sandwich board that says "I hate N*****s" (and practically everything else involving Samuel L. Jackson in that movie). These days, the Die Hard franchise just isn't funny anymore. I lost track of the amount of times the "always in the wrong place at the wrong time" McClane uttered "I'm on vacation!" every time he ran into a spot of bother. (We think it was about five times). Not once did we crack a smile watching A Good Day to Die Hard, except, possibly, after reading the ludicrously titled film name for the first time. The "I'm on vacation" gag wasn't funny first time round, and certainly wasn't funny the fifth time either.
