4. Bruce Willis Is Too Old

McClane Quite possibly one of the biggest mistakes the Die Hard franchise made was the 12-year gap in the series between 1995's Die Hard with a Vengeance and 2006's Die Hard 4.0. Not only did fans lose substantial interest in the films but Bruce Willis also lost a substantial amount of hair along with the likable macho-bravado of his youth. It is difficult to take John McClane seriously as an action hero considering Willis' advanced age, and the decision to revive the Die Hard series after such a long absence is now increasingly looking more and more like a big mistake. Remember when Sylvester Stallone got back in the ring for "one last fight" in the much maligned Rocky Balboa after a 16 year absence from the ring? Remember how he got pummelled? Well so did Die Hard 5 - by critics. Let this be a lesson that some franchises are just better off being left to the dusty confines of history.
