Avengers 4 Title: 8 Huge Predictions After The Russos' Teaser

WhatCulture's Mightiest Meroes assemble to speculate...

Spider Man Doctor Strange Avengers 4

Has the age of the Internet ever seen anything like the obsession over the title of Avengers 4? In a genius marketing move that has kept the film right at the forefront of all film discussion (as if it was ever going to fade in the wake of Infinity War), Marvel Studios and the Russos are stoking a fire under their film through vagueness.

Withholding that title has been inspired as it suggests that it will be a spoiler for Avengers 4, which inevitably breeds speculation and it also gives fans something to focus on that isn't trying to pick apart actual spoilers. And the addition of this mysterious image on Twitter that purports to "reveal" something about Avengers 4 has been another strong step...

But what does it mean and what do the finest minds on the Internet - or at least in the WhatCulture offices, which is very much the same thing - think the title of Avengers 4 is actually going to be?

Honourable Mention: What It SHOULD Have Been

Avengers Assemble

If there were any justice in the world, Avengers 4 would be called Avengers: Assemble, because it makes sense and it fits with the idea of this being a heroic last stand (and with new allies joining the core of survivors to take the fight to Thanos again).

Sadly, the Avengers TV show and film (you know, the one in which a terribly off-form Sean Connery attempts to take over the world using weather) already existed and Marvel were worried we'd all get confused. Bless us.

Hopefully, the rumour that the title might actually be Avengers Assemble proves to be correct. There's not one person will be bothered if the UK title for The Avengers is retrospectively changed.

So, anyway, what do WhatCulture's brightest and best think the title of Avengers 4 will be...?

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
