Avengers: Endgame - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

36. Akihiko

Avengers Endgame Hawkeye

We hadn't met crime boss Akihiko before Endgame, but he plays an important role in our understanding of where Hawkeye is when we meet him again after the five year leap in time. He and his syndicate represent everything that is flawed in Thanos' plan to balance the universe for its own benefit because innocents were killed and morally repugnant figures like him were allowed to live.

His fight with Barton is a nice little precursor to the main event and it gives us a chance to see how much of a badass Clint is before they basically just turn him back into normal Hawkeye with a rad new hairstyle swiftly afterwards.

35. Cassie Lang

While her recasting suggested we might be getting to see stature, Cassie Lang was merely aged as a reflection of the film's jump into 2023. And beyond being the heart of Scott Lang's emotional story (and one of the focal points for the "those left behind" element of the story), Cassie doesn't really have a great deal to do.

She's there to give Scott Lang his emotional reunion moment and to inspire in him the time travel idea (since her ageing gives him immediate concrete evidence that he didn't experience time the same way). She plays her limited part well, to be fair, but it's a slight one.
