Deadpool: 100 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References
79-78. Nicieza St And Fabian Rd (And Liefeld St)
As originally spotted in the trailers, all the street signs around the opening action sequence are actually references to various people involved in Deadpool, either from the comics or the movie.
First up is Fabian Nicieza, co-creator of Deadpool along with Rob Liefeld. His name is alluded to by neighbouring street signs for Nicieza St and Fabian Rd. near where the shootout takes places. Not leaving Rob out, there is also a Liefeld St sign, although that one wasn't visible in the trailers.
77. Miller St
Very close to Nicieza and Fabian is Miller St., which must be a reference to the movie's director Tim Miller (or possibly a very generous nod to actor T.J. Miller, although that's incredibly unlikely). Given how he was called "Some Overpaid Tool" in the credits, he's in need of some recognition.
76-74. The Visual Effects Coordinators Get In On The Act
It's not just the director or character creators who are honoured with the street signs though. Seeing as they spent the time putting the visuals of the sequence together, several also allude to VFX Coordinators, including O’Rourke Rd (Patrick Thomas O’Rourke), Shaham Circle (Tamar Shaham) and Silver Ave (Scott Aaron Silver).
73. Parker Boulevard
Deadpool is often credited as being "Spider-Man, but with guns" and so there's also a reference to Spider-Man in those signs - right by where Deadpool shows down with Colossus is a sign for Parker Boulevard, a nod to Spidey alter ego Peter Paker.
