9. Carmine Falcone (Batman Begins)
You might not expect to find a supporting character mob boss on a list of Batmans greatest cinematic enemies. However, Tom Wilkinsons performance as Carmine Falcone in Batman Begins is so mighty that I simply couldnt leave him out. With no superpowers, enhancements or gadgets, Wilkinson still manages to bring a real sense of threat to his establishing scenes as Falcone. Of particular note is the exchange where Bruce Wayne arrives to confront Falcone, only to get intimidated out of his establishment. Wilkinsons delivery of dialogue is particularly impressive here. Only those who know me, kid, Falcone retorts when Bruce claims not to be afraid of him. Look around you: you'll see two councilmen, a union official, a couple off-duty cops, and a judge, he adds. With his bitter delivery of this line, Wilkinson made Falcone an adversary worthy of inclusion on this list. He might get meddled with by Scarecrow later on, but Falcone is a real threat to Bruce and his first real obstacle in his battle against crime.
