Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: 8 Harry Potter Easter Eggs That Would Rule

6. Bathilda Bagshot And Gellert Grindlewald

The last time we saw Bathilda in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows she wasn't looking too good, after a snake literally exploded from her rotting corpse of a body. Pleasant. Obviously, we didn€™t see the lady at her best. Yet the books describe her as €˜sweet,€™ and €˜fascinating,€™ and a woman tied closely to Grindelwald, The Potters, and of course Dumbledore. She offers a lot of background to the Harry Potter story that we never got to see, and Fantastic Beasts may do well to provide a momentary blast from the past. With Bathilda and Newt both being authors of considerable recognition, and with lifespans spanning similarly to one another, there is a chance she could make an appearance in a younger and less senile state. Bathilda is made even more interesting by her link to Grindelwald, who is her nephew. The powerful and sociopathic dark wizard sits on the naughty podium just below He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and a fleeting glance of him in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows really wasn't enough. Admittedly in 1926, Grindelwald was most likely holed up in continental Europe planning his revolution, but he was on a hell-bent mission to purify the world of muggles (or No-Maj as the Americans say), so was probably a world-renown criminal. In light of this, Grindelwald could certainly cameo later on in a €˜Sirius Black screamy-mad-rage,€™ type newspaper article: wanted and dangerous.
