Neal McDonough - who plays a bad guy in, well, basically everything - and Rhona Mitra are the movie's terrorist antagonists, who storm the hotel where the protagonists work and start taking hostages...because...reasons.
Their motivations are pretty much instantly forgettable, but what's really disappointing here is that talented actors like McDonough and Mitra are just wasted as generic goons.
There is admittedly a mid-film twist in which an additional villain emerges out of the woodwork, but it's immensely predictable and doesn't really lend any extra personality to the movie's baddies.
The film is clearly propelled forward by its three plucky "heroes", but it also would've been nice if the villains didn't just feel like stock cardboard cutouts.
