8. There Won't Be A Whole Lot Of New Characters (But There Will Be A Couple)
Talk about James Gunn confusing the hell out of everybody with regards to the new characters in Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. Whilst being interviewed about the movie, the writer/director has provided conflicting statements with regards to any new characters who make be making an appearance in the sequel. In one interview, he proudly stated:
"Listen, one of the main things with Guardians Of The Galaxy is not to add a bunch of characters, not to make it bigger in that way but to go deeper with the characters."
Later, he kind of went against those claims somewhat when he said:
"Well get to know some of the characters a little bit more and then were going to meet a couple of new characters who will be very important to Guardians movies and probably important to the Marvel Universe as a whole."
Asked again in a different interview, and Gunn seemed less sure about said new characters, this time playing down their importance:
Not too many, thats for sure! I want all of our characters to get more personal time than they did in the 1st film."
What he seems to be saying, then, is that "Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 will have a couple of new characters, but they won't overshadow the main cast 'cause it's still ultimately their movie, you know?" But which characters could appear, you ask? Well..
