Surely the most religious-like death that Prime has had to suffer, the apocalyptic climax of the Generation 2 comic works on a visual level alone, and there's almost no need for any sort of text for full impact to be felt. In the comic, a devilish entity called The Swarm devours Autobots and Decepticons alike, causing Prime to sacrifice himself to the aliens, As The Swarm gobble his physical form up, they come a cropper with the Matrix and they evil is turned to good via the Matrix itself, causing Prime to gain a new body almost immediately. Because of this, Prime only dies for a few brief moments while The Swarm devour him, but their new-found goodness causes them to give Prime a new body to make up for eating his original one. Yummy.
