X-Men: 8 Reasons Why The Last Stand Doesn’t Actually Suck

8. The Mutant "Cure" Is Actually A Very Strong Plot

As much as a lot of fans will say that the focus of the movie should have been on the whole Dark Phoenix plot (with a better version of the Dark Phoenix as well), the fact is that the mutant cure plot was actually extremely interesting and engaging. The reason for this? Well, because the idea of the mutant cure impacted on every character in a different way. For instance, Magneto was utterly offended by the idea and waged war on its creators, Beast liked the effects of it but rejected it anyway, Professor X wasn't overly keen on it but respected those who wanted to utilise it and Rogue saw it as a blessing and went as far as using it. It made you wonder what exactly you would do in that situation - depending, of course, on exactly what your mutant ability was - and the vastly varying reactions of each character to the cure made for a decent watch.
