10 Controversial Video Games That Caused Major Moral Panic

3. KZ Manager (1990-2000)

A delightful bunch of titles fall under the categorical name - KZ Manager. They are literally concentration camp simulators whereby the player acts as the head of camp. You can make the decision of how many Jews/Gypsies/Turks to gas, how many to put out to work, how much Zyklon B to buy - this is all done to curry public favour. The corpses of the prisoners are called Müllberg (literally Garbage Mountain) - these must be gotten rid of for a cost. You can also sell gold fillings for a good price In even worst taste than Super Columbine Massacre RPG, the games that make up KZ Manager are a sick joke. To make a resource management game about the Holocaust is deeply cynical and downright offensive to the 6 million people killed in the death camps. The Wiesenthal Centre has eight of these films in their possession. They are German/Austrian in their production and nobody has much of a clue who is producing them except the possibility of Neo Nazis. Apparently an Austrian survey said that 39% of Austrian students knew about the games. The films are banned in Germany due to their Nazi references
