10 Hardest Legend Of Zelda Dungeons
7. Turtle Rock (Zelda: Link's Awakening)
Turtle Rock from Game Boy classic Link's Awakening held the title of 'hardest post-NES Zelda dungeon' for a while, but it isn't always acknowledged as such.
Perhaps that's because it followed the equally tough Eagle's Tower, or maybe it's down to the level sharing a name with a more famous stage from A Link to the Past.
Whatever the reason, it didn't make Turtle Rock any easier for players to navigate. It was a mess of maddening puzzles, hidden passages, rooms that didn't even appear on the map, and an insane amount of mini-boss fights.
Backtracking and sniffing out secret passages were regular fixtures in some of the earlier Zelda games, but this was next-level stuff, a series of massive hurdles for players to overcome before they reached Link's Awakening's final boss.
