10 Most Ultra-Violent Video Games - Ranked From Worst To Best

5. Manhunt 1 & 2

One of the most notorious - if not the most notorious - video games ever made. Manhunt was formerly involved in a real-life murder (though it was later proven the copy belonged to the victim, not the killer), and gameplay revolved around murdering all your fellow 'co-stars' in a snuff film.

As the scoring system centred around offing opponents in the most brutal and cerebral ways, everything from sawing off heads to breaking faces with claw hammers was fair game.

The seedy, destitute grime of the original carried over to the sequel, which introduced even more ways to kill your foes including aerial-drops, a ton more weapons and even environment fatalities like braining someone with a toilet lid.

The sort of game that by its very name, ushers in a certain tone whenever it's mentioned in public, if Rockstar ever did a Manhunt 3 with modern day graphics and their overall production value, chances are the entire western hemisphere would stop to pay attention.
