10 Most Ultra-Violent Video Games - Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Hotline Miami 1 & 2
Few games allow for such a perfect marriage of soundtrack and game mechanics as Hotline Miami, the resulting combination being one of the most immediately satisfying and gore-soaked creations of the decade.
Playing in the original as a brainwashed serial killer, you'll routinely receive orders to wipe out any number of gangster-filled hideouts. Across the game and its sequel, there's far, far more going on in the overall story, but the setup is more an excuse to teach you how to chain all your attacks together in one big blur of stomach-rips and neck-snaps.
There's a really dirty, grimy feel to both Hotline games; one predicated from its pulse-pounding soundtrack that only serves to help lose you in the mind of a killer hellbent on destroying their foes in the most brutal way possible.
