10 Things You Didn't Know About The Warriors

3. Two Separate Actors Play 'Fox'

On set animosities actually altered The Warriors in one very specific way after relations between Thomas G Waites; the actor portrayingThe Warriors' Fox, and director Walter Hill became increasingly frayed.

His role and importance to the film's plot was originally conceived as being far greater with the role of Mercy's love interest intended to be filled by the gang's 'scout' but these plans were hastily altered after Waites was viewed as 'difficult' to work with and was subsequently fired eight weeks into production.

Later demanding that his name be removed from the credits due to his disdain for Hill and thus the film itself, the scene in which his character meets his untimely demise at the hands of a subway train doesn't feature Waites whatsoever and the role is portrayed by a man who does his utmost to cover up his face throughout.

Hill has since expressed a great deal of remorse over the issues that he had with Waites.
