10 Worst Celebrity Video Game Performances

3. Christopher Walken – True Crime: Streets Of L.A.

Even when Christopher Walken is phoning in a performance – which is increasingly likely at this stage in his career – he’s so damn charismatic it rarely matters. That becomes a problem when it comes to his voice over work, where you can’t actually see him, and his disinterest is tangible.

That’s the case with True Crime: Streets Of LA, a 2003 action game that tried – and failed – to launch a GTA style franchise. The cast was unusually starry too, featuring Gary Oldman, Michelle Rodriguez, and Walken himself, who provides the opening narration. This speech is so badly written and Walken delivers it so poorly it immediately sets the game off on a wobbly foot, and it never completely recovers.

The bland car chases and shootouts don’t help of course, and while Walken’s role is small he’s amazingly awkward and hammy whenever he does appear.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
