Game Required For Mods: Skyrim The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was, and continues to be, a huge success: in the first two days of its release, it sold over three million copies, and it also rightly won game of the year at the Game Developers Choice Awards. Many gamers consider it the best instalment in the Elder Scrolls franchise, but this open-world RPG, also gives players countless options to craft their own gaming experience as they see fit, on the PC that is. Aside from the Skyrim unofficial patches that fix bugs and glitches, there are countless mods that range from the cool to the downright odd. Developers have made mods where users can adjust and enhance the graphics of the game. Others have created mods that help players adjust settings for followers, horses, spells, and even homes. These are all helped by the game's creator Bethesda, who offer extensive tools and documentation to help mod makers. Skyrim is up there as one of the most modded games of recent times, although I recall many mods to every other Elder Scrolls title. Alongside the above "repairs", there are random stuff like top hats and monocles on mudcrabs, giving the horses human textures and even this... This is one of the latest mods, that allows players to actually catch and battle Pokemon as a Viking. This mod by DJSuperGenius not only sticks some pocket monsters into the world, but also adds the shady group, Team Rocket. However, at the moment, the mod only supports 13 Pokémon. Among others Pikachu, Charizard, and Magikarp are available for capture. In order to catch these pocket monsters, you find it in the wild, kill it, and loot its corpse for an item that you can use to summon it. The mod is available through Steam Workshop, but it€™s a work-in-progress, so expect some bugs. This is an outstanding mod, and to have Charizard in the Skyrim world is an irresistible pleasure. And speaking of dragons...

Special Mention: Macho Dragons

This had to be brought up, this mod was crafted as a tribute to the late great "Macho Man" Randy Savage. It is what is says on the tin, a dragon with Macho Man's face and bright pink ring gear. Wait, it gets better... it flies around the game's opening sequence, and instead of dragon shouts, you hear "Oh Yeah!" and "Snap Into A Slim Jim!" Simply genius! Too bad they left out "cup of coffee in the big time." Get it here.
