God Of War 2017 Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See

5. Loki

God Of War
Marvel Comics

Quickly, name another Norse god!

The second name you came up with was probably Loki, god of trickery (maybe). If God of War is wanting for a villain, Loki is it, even though he's played that role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe already.

In Norse myth, Loki's defining feature is how weird he is. He is somehow the mother of Odin's eight-legged horse, as well as the father of various legendary beasties like the giant wolf Fenrir and the world-serpent Jormungadr (the latter of which is probably the enormous grinning snake/dragon thing Kratos encounters in the reveal trailer).

Scholars haven't agreed on what Loki is the god of, or how he fits in with the rest of the gods. Loki is an outsider, much like Kratos himself, which might be how he is introduced - a fellow interloper in the word of Odin, Thor and the rest of the gang.

Loki's sheer weirdness and habit of shapeshifting into animals suggests any number of memorable appearances, and players will be disappointed if the Son of Laufey doesn't turn up in some form or other.
