9. Exodus
Exodus came to my (semi-)proud homeland of the UK twice this year, and both times they totally decimated this tiny island.
The first time they came around was on a headlining trek, playing nearly 20 dates across the UK with up-and-coming thrashers Lost Society in tow. While the Finnish newcomers gave Exodus a run for their money night in and night out, you can never top the original (as Kindergarten Cop 2 found out the hard way).
Exodus worked every crowd they played for up into nothing short of an anarchic frenzy, and they did so again when they came back in October.
When the Californian speed metallers returned in the autumn, they were co-headlining with fellow beloved veterans Obituary. But even a band as adored as them couldn't outshine Exodus, who once again proved why they have been rocking hard for more than 35 years.
And if I had it my way, they'd keep going for another 35, too!
