10 Iconic Music Festivals You Must Attend In 2020

9. Coachella

Coachella may have a bit of a reputation nowadays as being a hive of Instagram models and “influencers” as opposed to hardcore music fans, but there’s no denying the sheer magnitude of this event in the festival scene. Usually hosted in April, and continuing this tradition in 2020, this California-based music and arts festival is one of the earliest on next year’s calendar.

Since kicking off in 1999, Coachella has continued to see excessive growth, with 2017’s event seeing over 250,000 tickets sold. One of its main selling points is its location. Situated in the Coachella Valley of California’s Colorado Desert, attendees are guaranteed a sunny, pleasant climate in a stunning part of the country.

Despite its “basic” reputation, Coachella has actually been host to an extremely varied range of bands- from AC/DC to Depeche Mode, from Jay-Z to Radiohead, from Black Eyed Peas to Paul McCartney and many, many more. It’d be hard to find anyone who couldn’t find enough on Coachella’s line-up to have a good weekend.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re tired of the rain, mud and ketamine concoction known as the UK festival circuit, a trip to the California sun could be just the thing for you.
