50 Definitive Beastie Boys Songs

47. Shazam!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbwnyi-ZLAE For a politically conscious album, To The 5 Boroughs sure does have a lot of references to food, magic, and a sasquatch. This song includes all of them. For those that do not know, the Beastie Boy's were fortunate enough to by DJ'ed by one of the worlds greatest turntablists Mix Master Mike, and his scratching on this track is definitely a highlight. Stand out line: "Blowin' up like my name is Joe Bazooka/I'm a super-dooper MC party pooper"

46. Brand New

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTsSuUqu-1g In 1995, the Beastie Boys released the E.P. Aglio E Olio containing eight hardcore songs that lasts barely 11 minutes. Brand New is the lead off track and is straight up hardcore at its most simple. The Boys even toured under the name "Quasar" playing just their punk and hardcore songs. It's a fun track to check out if you want to be introduced to the Beasties hardcore side. A certain emo alt-rock band even supposedly named themselves after this song. Stand out line: "Well I've got brand new/A scooby snack just for you"

45. I Don't Know

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rDklqPG5pU If you heard this song on the radio, the Beastie Boys would probably be the last artist you would think it was by. MCA actually sings on this Bossa nova ballad and it ends up being one of, if not the most beautiful song they have ever made. It's a unique piece of the eclectic puzzle that is their 1998 album Hello Nasty. Rest in peace buddy, and thank you.
