10 Biggest UFC Underdogs Wins Of All Time

9. Frankie Edgar (Vs. BJ Penn)

BJ Penn had victories over legends such as Renzo Gracie, Matt Hughes and Jens Pulver before he took on a young and hungry Frankie Edgar.

Edgar was on a three fight win streak going into the contest but the general feeling was that BJ Penn was just too good and, apart from amongst a very small circle, Edgar was seen as a huge underdog.

Edgar picked Penn apart with kicks, strikes and takedowns- all of which scored well with the judges. The fight went the distance and Edgar had his hand raised with a unanimous points decision victory. Not only was it a huge victory but it was also the first time in five years anybody had managed to take it the distance with Penn.

“The Answer” did it again at UFC 118 in an even more impressive display of raw MMA talent, showing fans and the world that he was there to stay.
