10 Managers Who Never Deserved The Sack

Remember when Newcastle sacked a legend for not finishing in the top four?!

A Premier League boardroom is filled with merciless, cutthroat businessman determined to extract every last morsel of value for the money that they invest into the club. No longer is football the €˜working-class man€™s game€™. With the sponsorship deals and the lavish consortiums, the pressure that exists throughout the top tier of this sport is insurmountable.

With owners with no prior insight into the world of football assuming the reigns of control, ludicrous decisions will inevitably be made. With the demand for instant success so prevalent in the modern game, the casualty list for top-flight managers at the end of any given season reads like the script for €˜Platoon€™.

Unjustly or not, it is the manager who takes the acclaim when the team performs, and thusly, bites the bullet when they don€™t. We have waded through the managerial body count over the last number of years, and while some have needed to go €“ David Moyes, anyone? €“ there have been a myriad of decisions made which the chairmen might subsequently look back on with a burning sense of regret.

Take a look at the ten managers who we feel should never have been sacked by their respective clubs.
