Whenever a Transfer Window creaks open, letting in all the cold air to freshen up what has been a fairly gossip-less past few months, writers such as myself have a field day by guessing and speculating who might be going where and for how much.
It’s all part and parcel of the Premier League, or any other major league in Europe for that matter. The transfer window allows a side to bring in some much needed new recruits in a desperate bid to stave off relegation, or for some, to bring in a fancy new striker to help them seal the Premier League crown.
And it also gives us a chance to spin a few yarns, too.
As with most transfer windows, there have been some truly wild and over-zealous claims being bandied around throughout the press so far this month, claims that are so far wide of the mark that it is almost embarrassing to publish them.
But we’re still going to. Here, you will be able to find a compilation of some of the most recent transfer speculation that should never have seen the light of day.
Over the next few days we will examine the wildest transfer claims from each of the top Premier League sides that definitely will not happen. Yesterday, we started with European Champions Chelsea and earlier today we looked at the crazy transfer rumours surrounding Premier League leaders Man United.
Now it’s the turn of Arsenal.

Wenger wont buy any new players the man has lost the plot and the only reason that he has a job is that the Arsenal board don’t care they making money and have no ambition for the club in any way. I have supported Arsenal all my life and feel so let down by the club. Arsenal are one of the most expensive grounds to go and watch, fish and chips is £10 for god sack!!! so for me the only transfer would be get rid of the board and Wenger and let’s get someone in that wants to run a football club not a business!!!!!!!!!!!
I too have supported arsenal all my life and I have never been so fed up with listening to the same old verbal claptrap about how this is going to be Arsenal’s year.
We have spent money but not big money.
We have bought good players but not great players.
We have sold great players and expect the youngsters to fill their boots.
You are quite right to feel let down by the club. Arsenals’ only “ambition” is to maintain the affordable business plan at the expense of the hearts and pockets of loyal fans. To make matters worse they go and sell the best striker in the world to Man Utd. That should never have happened whatever the reason financial or otherwise.
That was unforgivable and completely and utterly disrespectful to all Arsenal fans.
Maybe we’re all a bit pissed off with hearing how well we run at a profit……let’s live on the edge a bit who knows? we might win something!
