Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini's £25 million buy-out clause* is probably the least well-kept secret in English football, and after appearing to dash his suitor's hopes of landing his signature by signing a new long-term contract at Goodison Park last year, the news will give any interested party fresh hope of acquiring his signature. Chelsea have long been linked with the Belgian midfielder, and Rafael Benitez will have been encouraged by comments made by the player recently that he wants to play in the Champions League. After activating Demba Ba's release clause at St James' Park, could Chelsea be about to do the same thing with Fellaini? They do need a replacement for Frank Lampard, who has been told he has no future at Stamford Bridge, so it would make a lot of sense, plus Everton have bought in midfielder Leroy Fer**, seen by some as the Belgian's replacement...
