Demba Ba To Miss Newcastle vs Everton Game To Finalise Chelsea Transfer

the club's website, Newcastle confirmed that Chelsea have now officially triggered the transfer release clause in the player's contract and that he has been given permission to talk to the London club. The statement read;

"Newcastle United can confirm that Chelsea Football Club has made an official offer for Demba Ba which has triggered the release clause in the player's contract. The Club has given the player permission to speak to Chelsea FC and therefore he will not be included in the squad for tonight's game against Everton."
The confirmation from Newcastle of Chelsea's official offer comes three days after Ba's representatives revealed that they had spoken to Chelsea over a proposed move for the Senegalese international. The player's representatives then later revealed on Monday morning that talks had broken down over Ba's demands, heavily speculated to be over salary requirements, and that Chelsea had ended their interest in signing him. However today, just hours before a huge game tonight for Newcastle at St. James' Park against Everton in what has become a relegation threatening season, their top scorer has now been given permission to speak to Chelsea himself over a potential transfer and that Newcastle will need to rely on Papiss Cisse and Shola Ameobi as their forwards tonight. It is now looking increasingly likely that Ba's two goals on Saturday in the 7-3 defeat at Arsenal were his last for the club.
