He has faced competition from Premier League rivals Reading in his pursuit of the youngster however, and the Royals appeared to be in pole position for his signature last night* after Brendan Rodgers claimed a move for the 20-year old was "unlikely". Rodgers faced further deterrence in his pursuits when Blackpool refused to answer his phone calls regarding a move for the winger; a similar tactic the Seasiders employed when Liverpool went in for Charlie Adam two years ago.** That's why it would be such a shock if Rodgers were to get his man before the transfer window slams shut, but don't rule anything out.
