Man Utd: 5 Reasons Fans Should Be Optimistic About The Season Ahead

Pundits, journalists and even a number of fans are understandably a little concerned about the changes that have or have not occurred at Old Trafford this summer. The departure of Sir Alex Ferguson after 26 years has left a bad taste in the mouths of many United fans, whilst his replacement, David Moyes, has neither the experience in a title challenge or the Champions League. A distinct lack of transfer activity has also been noted and, barring any arrivals, the midfield area of the team looks worryingly thin at the moment. Add all of this to the ever-lasting Wayne Rooney saga, not set to end until he either does move on or the transfer window closes, and you get a number of publications writing United off for the title already - with Chelsea and Man City expected to acquire the top two spots in the table. But it's not all doom and gloom for United fans. After all, the Premier League-winning side that claimed United's 20th league title only a few months back have stuck together. Here is a list that looks at the top five reasons United fans have to be optimistic about the season ahead.
