His no-nonsense approach in dismantling a squad, a renaming of the ground among other mistakes all opened his eyes to what will and will not be tolerated on Tyneside. So the fact that he has not given in to certain sections of fans baying for Pardew's blood could not of been an easy, nor a clean cut decision.
