alan pardew Having seen Newcastle finish in the dizzying heights of fifth place last season above the likes of your Chelsea's and Liverpool's, very few of us could possibly have predicted the Magpie's dramatic fall from grace this season. With a spot in this season's Europa League secured, many thought the North East outfit would go on to bigger and better things, and possibly even qualify for the Champions League, yet Alan Pardew's side are currently hovering just above the relegation trap door at present and haven't won any of their last four Premier League games. The sale of star striker Demba Ba was costly and injuries haven't helped either, while Pardew had to deny reports of a rift last week. If Newcastle do get relegated for the second time in four seasons, it really would be one of the most shocking things to have happened this season given their heroics in the last campaign.
