Spurs Fans: Which Centre Back Should Tottenham Sign?

Who should Pochettino bring in to strengthen the Lilywhite's defence next season?

Mike Egerton/EMPICS SportMike Egerton/EMPICS SportHere at WhatCulture.com, we've recently looked in to which left back Spurs should sign (a question that apparently no longer needs answering, as Swansea's Welsh international Ben Davies appears to be on his way to White Hart Lane) and which striker Spurs should sign by posing the question to you, the fans. Now, let's take a look at the final truly troublesome position at the club - centre back. On paper, Spurs look to have the centre back positions covered. Jan Vertonghen stands out as the star man and he is joined by the talented Younes Kaboul, the long-serving Michael Dawson and young Romania captain Vlad Chiriches. However, Vertonghen aside, the other three all come with problems; Kaboul is as injury prone as they come, Dawson has never truly been a top of the table quality player and has been told he can leave, while Chiriches has flattered to deceive since his move last summer and is still considered to be more about potential than anything else. Consequently, newly appointed boss Mauricio Pochettino has earmarked the position as one that needs improving quickly, with a number of players linked to a potential move to White Hart Lane as a result (why change the habit of a lifetime, people of the press?). Belgium defender Toby Alderweireld has long been linked to the club and a reuniting with former Ajax team-mate Jan Vertonghen would surely be good for Spurs. Pochettino's former player Dejan Lovren is strongly linked with Spurs, amongst a number of Premier League teams, after an impressive season under the Argentinian last year. Héctor Moreno is another World Cup star who has been linked with White Hart Lane - although he has just been ruled out for 4-6 months after fracturing his tibia against the Netherlands. Former Spurs youngster Steven Caulker has also been linked with a return to the club and the Davide Astori links from back in January won't go away either. Fourth choice Juventus centre back Angelo Ogbonna also gets a mention every now and again. So our question to you is this, Spurs fans: Which centre back should your beloved Lilywhites sign, out of those who have been touted in the media of late?
