5. Gonzalo Higuain
Along with Arsenal, Tottenham have a
long-standing interest in the Real Madrid attacker and have been keeping tabs on the Argentina international this summer. Spurs have a good working relationship with Real having done business in the past for Luka Modric while the Spaniard's could offer the 25-year-old as part of any attempt to sign top target Gareth Bale. Higuain has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu and was rotated last season along with Karim Benzema as Cristiano Ronaldo's strike partner. He also found himself omitted for a series of high-profile fixtures. That has left the former River Plate star assessing his options, and though Napoli are the favourites for his signature,
nothing has yet been set in stone. Spurs would however have to fend off interest from their North London rivals Arsenal for Higuain's signature.
