Spurs Transfers: 4 Players AVB Must Sign To Qualify For Champions League

4 January Transfer Targets To Help Spurs Finish 4th

mountinho In the last five seasons, Tottenham Hotspur have only finished fourth twice. One of those times was last season, though they cruelly had to miss out on Champions League football as a result of Chelsea's victory in the competition and final league position outside of the top four. In March 2011, Spurs unexpectedly reached the Quarter Final Stages of the Champions League after memorably seeing off Italian giants AC Milan, and whilst they then crashed out of the tournament to Real Madrid, how much would their fans like to welcome back that pedigree of opposition to White Hart Lane on a Wednesday night? They're in the running to do just that so far this season as they look set to oust London rivals Arsenal and finish above them in 4th place going into the New Year. Here are four players who could help them further in 2013.

4. Jose Callejon

He has failed to establish himself as a regular under Jose Mourinho, with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain given the nod instead. Italian newspaper Tuttospor has claimed a string of English clubs are interested, such as Tottenham, Liverpool and Udinese. However, Callejon has a £16.3million buy out clause in his contract, and Madrid are still thought to value him quite highly. With Villas-Boas perhaps mindful that his side are relying too heavily on Jermain Defoe however, and with strike partner Adebayor struggling for form, Callejon could be just the player he is looking for.
