10 Most Emotional Big Bang Theory Moments
4. Well-Deserved Victory
As expected, the finale episode itself featured life-changing moments for more than one of the characters. After a tense wait in the early hours of the morning, Sheldon and Amy received the phone call that they had indeed won a Nobel Prize for their work on super asymmetry. Finally, all their hard work had paid off. ShAmy (and the others) were off to Sweden.
The episode where they received the prize was the final ever episode, and it featured quite the character change for Sheldon. Seeing that everyone had become upset because of how rude he was being to them (namely the newly pregnant Penny and Leonard), he scrapped his rather self-centred acceptance speech to instead speak highly of both his family and his second family that he calls his close group of friends.
Towards the end of his speech, we heard Sheldon say something he had never said. In his own unique way, he loved all of his friends, as he called Penny and Leonard his dearest friends in the world. It's a phrase that we thought would never come out of Sheldon's mouth 279 episodes ago. He may rarely show it, but Sheldon's friends do indeed mean the world to him.
