10 Saved By The Bell Plots That Are Certifiably Insane

5. The Worst Cover-Up In The History Of Crime

(From "Drinking and Driving") One of Saved By The Bell's few "very special episodes," "Drinking and Driving" is about exactly what it says on the tin. There's a toga party for some reason, and since it's a toga party, there's beer. Everyone but Screech and Tori has what appears to be a single beer each, get so drunk they start singing along with "Wild Thing" on the radio like idiots, and Zack's crashes Lisa's mom's car into a telephone pole. They get the car towed to Zack's house with Tori paying for it, but Zack's dad wakes up. He's concerned that they were in an accident, obviously, but is otherwise nonplussed and doesn't suspect that anyone was drinking. For some reason, the moderately buzzed teens start making up ridiculous stories about what happened. They didn't need to, though. They didn't hit anyone. There were no police involved. Yeah, they hit a telephone pole, but were able to leave the scene and get the car to Zack's house. Not only do they make up a story about swerving to miss a puppy when they talked to Zack's dad, but they keep the whole thing from Lisa's mom. They lie and change the story so much that they get tripped up, and everyone learns an important lesson: Don't be an idiot when lying to your parents. Oh, and that other thing.
