Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is the revival of a beloved television series that everyone thought they wanted, but then when it actually aired they were all like, "Oh yeah never mind this isn't that good."

Has it aged badly? Sure, the fast talking "wit" shown by the two Gilmore girls doesn't feel like the kind of humor that's popular at the moment, more of a relic of the early 2000s. It's actually crazy how fast styles of humor can become dated.

But more than anything, it doesn't feel like the kind of show that matches the public mood, for the most part. Times have changed since this show was first on the air, and watching two privileged white women talk about themselves as they swan around their quirky yet idyllic New England hometown isn't as entertaining as it might have been fifteen years ago.

Add to that the shaky writing that succeeds only in making its main characters unlikable and you've a show that, if left to its own devices, might actually curb the tide against the constant rebooting of television programs.
