10 Super Disappointing Netflix Original Series

4. Richie Rich

Richie Rich is yet another attempt to capitalize on nostalgia, taking its cues from not only the original comic strip, but the film adaptation that came out in the early 90s.

It stars Jake Brennan, who is terrible. You think you can just walk into Macaulay Culkin's shoes like that, bro? You haven't earned what he's earned. There are a lot of issues with this show. It's made for kids, but it treats all of its pint-sized viewers like idiots. There is no subtlety, and every single one of the jokes is tired and lame beyond belief.

Also, a huge part of the original film's charm was that even though Richie had everything in terms of material goods, he was still super lonely and wanted to hang out with regular kids.

This version gives him two best friends, so he's just a kid who has literally everything going for him, and what's interesting about that? Also, it's kind of gross that he has a French maid robot. Just throwing it out there. That one came out of left field and it's hard to tell exactly who amongst the show's viewers that was supposed to appeal to.
