10 Super Disappointing Netflix Original Series

Iron Fist 13 Reasons Why
Netflix

Iron Fist sort of went into this whole Netflix thing with a few strikes against it. First of all, every other one of the Defenders series was uncommonly good. The second season of Daredevil was a little hit or miss and Jessica Jones didn't vibe with everyone, but on the whole, they were some of the best programming that Netflix has come out with.

And being the last to be released, Iron Fist had a lot to live up to. There were a lot of questions about the role of race and representation in the show from the very beginning, and the casting of Finn Jones, who is charming but in way over his head here, didn't help matters.

The general plotline of rich boy who ends up stranded somewhere in Asia/Oceania and learns crazy impressive fighting skills, only to return to his home city and vow to make it a better place, has been done before. And better. By a show that's also available to stream on Netflix. Maybe Iron Fist will function better as one fourth of the Defenders, but as it stands now, it probably doesn't need a second solo series.
