The end of the year is a time for celebrating the most memorable moments of the past 12 months (you can see our top Doctor Who moments of 2014 here) but it's also an opportunity to remember the people that sadly lost their lives. In 2014 various familiar faces from the Doctor Who universe passed away and this list serves as a tribute to them and the lasting legacies they each left on the show's mythology. Whether they appeared in the series, worked behind the scenes and in some cases both, each and every one of them played a part in establishing Doctor Who as one of the greatest TV shows in history and preserving its status as the worldwide phenomenon it still is today. It's always important to remember those that the Whoniverse has unfortunately lost and here are 21 of the people who are gone but certainly will not be forgotten. Let's raise a glass for all of them and thank them for their individual contributions to the Time Lord's adventures. Here's to them.
