Doctor Who: 10 Monsters That Should Come Back In Series 9

Who's going to make the Doctor run next year?

As Series 8 of Doctor Who came to a close last weekend, in rather depressing circumstances, the eyes and thoughts of both fans and TV watchers alike are now looking to the next full season of the show following the Christmas special. Every year before the show airs there are rumours and set leaks alike that hint at both new and old villains making their way into the latest iteration of the long running sci-fi drama. This year alone we have seen the Cybermen and The Master (sorry Mistress) return to our screens as allies, as well as the Daleks, alongside a whole host of new villains including The Boneless, a Mummy and a killer robot known as the Skorvox Blitzer. A show that has run as long as Doctor Who naturally has a huge roster of past villains prime for the plucking and re-imagining in the modern era. With a limited amount of episodes per series though, that means some villains will have to wait for their return to the modern iteration of the show. However, Steven Moffat is a firm lover of the old style Doctor Who, so it is almost guaranteed that some of the more popular villains will be making a re-appearance at some point, especially as the clamour for their introduction grows from an expectant fan base. With that in mind, let us take a look at what villains we want to see return for series nine. However, unlike previous lists on this site, this will be an amalgamation of both classic villains who deserve a re-design and new Who villains who we€™d like to see once again. Oh, and considering that Michelle Gomez has pretty much confirmed that the Master/Mistress will be in Series 9, she won€™t be featuring on the list.
