Doctor Who: 10 Rumours About The Day Of The Doctor We Hope Are True

9. The Time War

Doctor Who Galifrey The Time War has been a mysterious and constant companion to the Doctor in each of his NewWho incarnations and has fired the imagination of fans for years. Was the first shot of the Time War fired by the 4th Doctor in Genesis of The Daleks as indicated by original NewWho showrunner Russell T. Davis or was it something else? Which Doctor fought in the war and how did the Time Lords convince or coerce him into participating? The questions are nearly endless. The Skaro Degredations, The Horde of Travesties, The Nightmare Child, The Could Have Been King with his army of Meanwhiles and Neverwheres the Battle at the Gates of Elysium and the Fall of Arcadia are just some of the mindboggling concepts that have been referred to by the Doctor. Add in the resurrection of his arch enemy the Master as "the perfect warrior for a time war," and battles between Time Lord Bowships, Black Hole Carriers and N Forms versus the Dalek Deathsmiths of Goth and it seems inconceivable that so much could ever be brought to the screen in a satisfying manner. But what it Steven Moffat tried? No matter the outcome, we'd certainly be talking about it for years to come.
