Jake would certainly be a different choice for the Doctor, who usually takes women in their twenties along for company, but he seems like the kind of kid who would appreciate it. He might not be great around aliens, as he easily feels stressed, but he has other talents that would make him a useful companion. Jake uses numbers to be able to see events from the past, present and future. Hed be able to tell the Doctor exactly who needed helping and where, making sure that everyone in the universe was safe. As for communicating, although Jake is mute, it wouldnt take long for the Doctor to decipher the meanings behind his mobile phone communications, which may be nice for the kid, as someone would finally understand him perfectly.
