Family Guy: 50 Best Episodes

48. Brian The Bachelor

Family Guy 48Season: 4 Episode: 7 Original Air Date: June 26th, 2005 "Reality TV" is often the bane of a television watcher's existence, with people who have no real talent whatsoever becoming rich and famous for no reason at all, terribly scripted drama, and no redeeming qualities. In this episode, Family Guy perfectly skewered the genre, making fun of it at every possible turn. In one of the more absurd (and that's saying a lot with this show) side plots, Chris gets a large pimple on his face, which he names "Doug". Doug begins speaking to Chris, and making him into a bit of a juvenile delinquent. With Doug's suggestion, Chris gets into graffiti (including a funny joke aimed at singer John Mayer), poop-related games of "Ding Dong Ditch", among other things. The meat of the episode is Brian and his inclusion in the taping of a season of "The Bachelorette", where he starts out as cynical towards "reality TV" as you can possibly be, only to soften his stance once he begins to fall in love with the woman he's on the show to win over. It's just a well-written episode that many viewers can relate to.
