Preacher Season 3: 3 Ups & 1 Down From 'Les Enfants Du Sang'

1. Eccarius And Cassidy

Preacher Cassidy
AMC

Speaking of Cassidy, he truly got a chance to shine this week, and the budding friendship between him and Children of Blood leader Eccarius (who dresses like Tom Cruise in Interview With A Vampire) proves to be the highlight of Les Enfants du Sang. As noted earlier, Cassidy is a bit of a mess right now, and at odds with himself over the fact that he's a vampire.

That's where Eccarius comes in. The posh cult leader promises to show Cassidy all the benefits of being a vampire - including things that Cassidy had been previously unaware of. The creation of this character is a pretty genius way of helping Cassidy overcome his problems. Moreover, the chemistry between the two characters is truly off the charts - whether to not it's of a sexual nature has yet to be revealed.

Eccarius' introduction has breathed new life into the show, and this storyline gives Cassidy an arc of his own for the first time in ages. While he is the comedic relief of the series, it's safe to say that Cassidy is woefully under-utilised as a character. This narrative will give us an opportunity to discover what these vampires are truly capable of, because that hasn't really been explored on the show thus far. Sure, the storyline is about as stereotypical as you could get when depicting a vampire-loving cult, but it somehow it proves to be the best thing about Preacher in its current state.
