WWE: 10 Best Pre-Match Promos Ever

9. Undertaker Vs Triple H At Wrestlemania 27

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06J7QGFpkKw This was one of 'Takers "streak with the streak" matches, and somewhat unique in the build up to it, in that the feud basically consisted of Triple H and The Deadman deciding to fight at Wrestlemania, and that was that. Brock Lesnar and 'Taker seem to be doing a similar program this year, but this one was already as effective as that angle could possibly be. Playing up the fact that both combatants were grizzled veterans, an old western cowboy feel soaks the whole video. It opens as a Stetson-wearing Undertaker pulls open the door of a log cabin, with a sepia filter covering the screen and the opening slide guitar of Mark Collie's "In Time" ringing out. It then shows the initial confrontation between him and Triple H, where they set a date for Wrestlemania with no words being spoken, just a couple of gestures and a glance at the sign. It then builds on the legacy of both men using stock footage, giving the impression that this has been building up for years. What's great about this promo is it's use of music, how they ensure that clips match up with lyrics from the song in the background, such as when the two men make initial eye contact, ("I can hear what you're thinkin'...") and when they discuss the many victims of The Streak ("count 'em one by one, like notches in the handle of an outlaw's gun"). It all gives the feeling of two old warriors about to embark on a bloody battle for dominance, neatly summed up in it's last line, "there can only be one last outlaw"
