Could've been worse, you'd have to think. The ECW Championship was only defended once at WrestleMania, and that was a Sheamus-over-Bryan-esque squash job where Kane murdered Chavo Guerrero. At least this match got decent time.

CM Punk successfully defended the strap against John Morrison and The Miz in the early days of the latter two's run as the snarky Dirt Sheet Duo. The match was a decent little showcase of spots to get the crowd going, and all three looked comfortable working at the frenetic pace.

In the other years where the ECW Championship was an option (2006, 2008, and 2009), respective titlists Big Show, Matt Hardy, and Christian were all tied up in elimination matches, so defenses were a no go.
