10 Gimmicks WWE Needs To Bring Back In 2017 (And Who Should Use Them)

8. The Power And Paint Duo

Road Warriors Legion of Doom

This has been tried somewhat in recent times, but never with any conviction. Three decades ago the key to success as a tag team was to be big dudes with face paint, powerful guys who would simply truck anyone and everyone that stood in their way. It worked for the Road Warriors, it worked for Demolition, it kinda worked for the Powers of Pain. Sure, it didn't work for The Ascension, but they were doomed from the start.

There is always room for painted faces in professional wrestling, as it adds so much more than just pure aesthetics. The painted warrior will never go out of fashion, and the sight of paint being battered away is a great addition to any match.

If Sheamus and Cesaro are eventually going to get on the same page and dominate RAW's tag team division, why not give them some sort of paint job in the process? This has long been a possibility for Sheamus, but why not go whole hog and give it to Cesaro too?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
