10 Gimmicks WWE Needs To Bring Back In 2017 (And Who Should Use Them)

7. The Diva Destroyer

The women's revolution has undoubtedly been a great thing for women's professional wrestling in the WWE, and now that the formative work has been done on rehabilitating the presentation the time is nigh for it to move forward with some actual characters. The female roster of WWE is 100% reality-type performers, with even the monstrous Nia Jax falling into that 'real person' trap.

Kharma's WWE run was cut frustratingly short, but there is no reason why her anti-diva destroyer gimmick can't be reprised by another talent. This is pretty much what Nia Jax should have been given upon entering NXT, but this wasn't to be the case. Why not repackage Jax ahead of time in this sort of vein?

A division needs characters to survive, and outside of 'we are revolutionaries' the women's divisions in WWE are lacking. Bring in a silent destroyer with an old fashioned name to freshen things up.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
